Dear student members,
The SASP 2012 Organizing Committee is pleased to announce that SASP will again offer the Outstanding Postgraduate Research Award at next year’s conference.
The Outstanding Research Award highlights outstanding student research conducted by graduate student members of SASP. Three awards will be given out: First Place award ($500) and two Runner-Up awards ($250 each). Our Judging panel will select up to 8 student finalists to present their research in a special stream at the SASP conference in Adelaide. For more information read on below:
Award eligibility
- Enrolled in a graduate program at time of submission
- Be a student member of SASP
- Be available to present their research at the SASP conference
- First author of a completed piece of research within the field of social psychology that is not currently published or in-press
How to enter
- Applications can only be submitted electronically as an e-mail attachment (Microsoft Word or PDF format) to Peter Strelan [ This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ] by January 31, 2012.
How to apply
Your application must include all three of the following AS ONE DOCUMENT
- A page with your name, contact information (phone, address, e-mail address), school affiliation, current enrolment status, and title of research.
- A page with an abstract of up to 1000 characters including spaces summarizing the research.
- A project summary limited to 500 words single-spaced on a single A4 page (12-point Times New Roman font) detailing Purpose, Brief intro, Methodology, Results, and Discussion/implications. The summary can include up to 2 Tables and/or Figures (that’s 2 in total) that are not included in the word count and may be included on additional pages. A reference list is not required. Omit the author's name and school affiliation within the summary and abstract, BUT include the title of the submission in the header of every page.
- In short, that’s 3 separate pages in the ONE document (with the allowance of 1-2 extra pages for 2 tables and/or figures in total).
- Please be sure to also submit your presentation in the usual way on the SASP conference website. Please indicate in the box provided that your submission is also being considered for the Postgraduate Research Award.
We regret that late submissions will not be considered.
Selection process
- Up to 8 finalists will be chosen based on the merits of the entire application.
- Finalists and non-finalists will be notified by March 01, 2012.
- Unsuccessful applicants will still be invited to present their research at SASP.
Please note that student applicants should not agree to be part of a symposium if they intend on applying for the outstanding researcher award.
